Looking Ahead – Hospital at Home Beyond the Public Health Emergency
The Hospital at Home Users Group, in partnership with the American Academy of Home Care Medicine, the American Hospital Association, and The John A. Hartford Foundation, is pleased to present our latest webinar for hospital and system leaders interested in learning about the opportunities and challenges associated with providing acute care in the home.
The CMS waiver that established the Acute Hospital Care at Home program and set off a dramatic expansion of hospital at home programs across the country is only in effect during the current public health emergency. As the pandemic relents, what can we learn from current DC policy discussions about how payment and policy for hospital-at-home may change in the coming months? This webinar will gather inside-the-Beltway experts to discuss efforts already underway to educate legislators around the merits of a waiver extension (or at least flexibility), opportunities for, and approaches to a CMMI-supported hospital-at-home demonstration, and the growing evidence base (and data requirements) that HaH advocates can use to make the case for our work in the halls of power. Our speakers will also review developing plans to build a broad-based coalition in support of a variety of payment policies and regulations necessary to enable hospital at home programs to grow and thrive in the months and years ahead.
