Medically Home Honored in Fast Company’s 2021 World Changing Ideas Awards

Honorable Mentions for both General Excellence and Best World Changing Idea North America

BOSTON, MAY 4, 2021—Medically Home Group Inc., whose hospital-at-home model is transforming how high-acuity hospital-level health care is delivered, has been honored by Fast Company magazine in its 2021 World Changing Ideas Awards announced today. Fast Company awarded Medically Home Honorable Mentions in two categories: General Excellence and Best World Changing Idea North America.

The Medically Home hospital-at-home care model has been deployed by some of the country’s top health systems to treat patients for serious and complex illnesses that would otherwise require an inpatient hospital admission. Since the model’s initial use case supporting high-acuity inpatient care in the home, it has been extended into additional use cases including emergency care in the home and supportive oncology care in the home.

“We are grateful and honored to receive this recognition for Medically Home, our partners, and our customers as we strive to change the world for the better for patients, their families, clinicians and providers,” said Rami Karjian, Medically Home co-founder and CEO. “Our vision is to enable health systems to provide high-acuity care in the home across a broad range of use cases, geographies, and populations, both domestically and internationally – and to reach historically underserved minority and rural communities.”

Medically Home offers the only hospital-at-home platform purpose-built for treating high-acuity illnesses. The Cesia® Continuum technology platform helps orchestrate medical protocols, patient-clinician communication, technology in the home, a supply chain for medical services and goods delivered at bedside, a hospital-based medical command center, and integration with health system electronic health record systems.

Fast Company’s 2021 World Changing Ideas Awards honor the businesses, policies, projects, and concepts that are actively engaged and deeply committed to pursuing innovation when it comes to solving health and climate crises, social injustice, or economic inequality. A panel of eminent Fast Company editors and reporters selected winners and finalists from a pool of more than 4,000 entries across transportation, education, food, politics, technology, and more.

“There is no question our society and planet are facing deeply troubling times. So, it’s important to recognize organizations that are using their ingenuity, impact, design, scalability, and passion to solve these problems,” says Stephanie Mehta, editor-in-chief of Fast Company. “Our journalists, under the leadership of senior editor Morgan Clendaniel, have discovered some of the most groundbreaking projects that have launched since the start of 2020.”
