Biographies:

Pippa Shulman, DO, MPH– Chief Medical Officer, Medically Home. Boston, MA, USA.

Eliza “Pippa” Shulman, DO, MPH is the Chief Medical Officer of Medically Home, the world’s first virtual hospital. Medically Home is a tech-enabled clinical enterprise, providing all the necessary capabilities to safely-shift medical care from hospitals to patients’ homes. Prior to joining Medically Home Pippa was the Medical Director of the Center for Healthcare Innovation at Atrius Health, charged with identifying, testing, and implementing novel care delivery solutions as part of the largest independent multi-specialty medical group in the Northeast.

Previously Pippa was the Chief of Geriatrics and Palliative Care at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates; tasked with leading improvement efforts in-home care, extended care facilities, outpatient geriatrics, and palliative care services. As chief and as part of the ACO geriatric care model workgroup she led numerous initiatives to redesign care for frail elder patients, including implementation of an organization-wide strategy for improving advance care planning.

Dr. Shulman is board certified in family medicine, preventive medicine, and hospice and palliative medicine. She is a graduate of the combined NH-Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency and the Dartmouth Hitchcock Leadership Preventive Medicine Residency, which is focused on developing physicians to lead change and improve systems of care.

Michael Maniaci, MD – Chief Clinical Officer, Advanced Care at Home, Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL USA.

Dr. Maniaci is the current Chair of the Division of Hospital Internal Medicine in Florida, the Associate Chair of Inpatient Practice for the Department of Medicine in Florida, and the Medical Director of patient Experience in Florida.  He currently holds the academic rank of Associate Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.

Dr. Maniaci has demonstrated a strong interest and leadership role in education and teaching.  He served as Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine residency program from September of 2008 until September of 2015. His main focus was curriculum development and has contributed to developing Internal Medicine in the simulation curriculum in over 24 specific areas.

Dr. Maniaci has also served as the Associate Medical Director of the Mayo Clinic Multidisciplinary Simulation Center since November 2014. There he has driven teaching and innovation through simulation and experiential learning to hundreds of medical residents, fellows, and medical students.

Dr. Maniaci has been a key member of the growth of the Hospital Internal Medicine Practice.  As Chair, he has expanded the Division significantly and has expanded into many new areas including patient flow and bed optimization, care transitions and patient flow up after discharge, the formation of an admissions and transfer center, the trial of an observation unit, and a short stay unit, and the expansion into the Advanced Care at Home program.

His bibliography lists 30 peer-reviewed original papers and articles of which he first author or mentoring author of 20.

Eugene Shum  MBBS, MPH, FAMS(Public Health), Chief Community Development Officer, Changi General Hospital, Director, Community Partnership, SingHealth Office of Regional Health. Singapore.

Dr. Eugene Shum is the Chief Community Development Officer at Changi General Hospital and Director, Community Partnership at SingHealth Office of Regional Health. He oversees community engagement and the integration of health and social care services in the community. Dr. Shum led the development of the Neighbours for Active Living Programme, innovative health, and social integration program that supports residents with high care needs in the community. He also oversees CareLine, a relationship-based nationwide 24/7 urgent assistant telecare service for seniors.

Dr. Shum is a preventive medicine physician. He obtained his Master of Public Health from the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore. His areas of interest are community and population health. Dr. Shum is a Grassroots Leader and District Councilor at the South East Community Development Council. He was conferred the Public Service Medal in 2020.

David Triska, MD – Clinical Director for Digital First Primary Care at Surrey Heartlands, United Kingdom. A GP with an interest in novel delivery of healthcare, including remote patient-led care and adaptive long term condition management. Currently working at the regional level for primary care and secondary interface work along with widespread deployment of digital-first primary care. In clinical practice particularly interested in mental health, complex somatic disorders, and metabolic medicine. When not practicing medicine a bike racer with a penchant for carbon fiber.
